North Texas apartment demand was strong in the third quarter, but the market is facing lots of challenges to translate that growth into filled apartment units.

The Dallas-Fort Worth area saw demand increase to 3,680 units, according to figures released Thursday from M/PF YieldStar.
 

Arthouse, the mixed-use development where tenants have living space upstairs and a studio below, opened in November and has progressed despite the economy.

The apartments are 59 percent occupied, and 49 percent of Arthouse’s retail space has been leased, said Jim Cheney, a spokesman for Southern Land Co., Arthouse’s developer.
 

Keller’s most contemporary community, Arthouse, was recently inducted into Keller’s Chamber’s Business Hall of Fame. Under Dianne Gonzalez’s leadership, the staff at Arthouse was recognized for their exemplary customer service.

ArtHouse, the mixed-use development in Keller Town Center, is adding nine tenants.

The tenant mix is a collection of boutique shops that are not national chains. They include art shops, salons, a home decorating business and gift shops.

D Magazine rates Keller as the number 9 suburb in Texas because of home prices and cool projects like ArtHouse.

Nationally acclaimed fine art school, Monart, will open its doors for the first time in the State of Texas on March 6, 2008 in Keller Town Center. Monart has leased space in Arthouse, a dynamic new mixed-use community developed by Southern Land Company which recently opened in Keller in the fall of 2007. Monart is Arthouse’s first commercial tenant.
