Lace up your running shoes or attend an inspirational dinner with the Life is good co-founder to help needy kids.

This year's Life is good Festival, which raises money for The Boys & Girls Club of Franklin/Williamson County and the Life is good Kids Foundation, is scheduled for June 7.

On June 6, a pre-race dinner will include an evening with Bert Jacobs, Life is good apparel and accessories brand co-founder, and Steve Gross, founder of Project Joy, a nonprofit organization for at-risk children. Dinner will be served beginning at 6 p.m. at Green's Grocery in Leiper's Fork with the Homer Dever Band providing entertainment later.

Tickets for dinner are $100 each. To order, drop by the Westhaven Residents Club concierge desk or mail a check to 401 Cheltenham Ave., Franklin, 37064. Be sure to make checks payable to Westhaven 5K and include the names and addresses of each attendee.

The next day, the festival will kick off at 3 p.m. at Southern Land Co.'s Westhaven subdivision in Franklin with food, music and children's games. Kids races will start at 5:30 p.m. with the official 5K set to begin at 6:30 p.m. Jonell Mosser will provide live music.

The festival last year raised more than $30,000 for area nonprofits.
