FRANKLIN — Take a tour of seven private gardens in the Westhaven neighborhood Friday through May 18 with the third annual Courtyard Garden Tour.

And while you're in the neighborhood, stop in this year's St. Jude Dream Home, where tours open to the public that weekend as well.

The garden event runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. May 18. There will also be container gardening demonstrations by Southern Land's "Flower Ladies" from 10 to 10:30 a.m. Friday and 11 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday.

Tickets are $10 or $5 for ages 11 and under. Tickets and maps can be picked up at the Westhaven Resident's Club at 400 Cheltenham Ave.

Last year, more than 400 people came out to see the Westhaven gardens as the event raised more than $3,000 for Waves, a local program for developmentally disabled individuals. This year's event also benefits the organization.

St. Jude's Children Research Hospital is the beneficiary of the sale of the Dream Home. Only 16,000 tickets, at $100 each, will be sold. The winner of the Westhaven home will be announced on a live WZTV-Channel 17 broadcast June 22.
